A two-man contingent, an athlete and an official will leave the shores of Ghana at 12noon on Saturday, November 9, 2019 to participate at this year's Korean Ambassador's Cup Taekwondo World Championships in Muju.
The Annual event which begun in 2017 with invited athletes from across the World, will be held at the Taekwondowon in Muju, from 10th to 15th of November, 2019.
Per request from the Korean Government, to the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea selected Henrietta Armah, after watching videos of 3 Senior Athletes, including Benson Addo and Selasi Damalie.
Henrietta is joined by the Technical Director of GTF, Stephen Amegashie Jnr who apart from attending a Poomsae Technical Course from 17-19 November, will coach the -49Kg 1st Nigeria Open Silver medalists.
Henrietta participated in the 16th African Games in Morocco but couldn't enter the medal zone.
She however have high hopes of getting into the top four in her category.
"I started the year well but mid way, it wasn't tat easy. I'm going all out and will push for the first 4 in my category. This isn't Africa and it's not going to be easy but I have hopes of improving upon my African Games performance." She said in an interview.
The Championship which is organized by the Republic of Korea, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Culture & Tourism is also aimed at promoting the Korean culture among Taekwondo practising nations.
The Championship will be streamed on 'Korea Public Diplomacy' YouTube channel from 13:00hrs November, 13 (Ghana Time at 04:00 am November 13).
