Ghana’s Rashid Sumaila scores for Al Gharafa in Qatari Premier League

Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila scored his third goal of the season for Al Gharafa in the Qatari Premier League on Saturday.

Having been dropped from the Black Stars squad for the Cup of Nations in Gabon, the center-back went to his Club and showed his worth by scoring in the 2-2 draw with bottom place Al Mu'aidar.

Sumaila who was voted Al Gharafa player of the month for December found the back of the net in the 38th minute.

Kook-Young Han increased the tally for the host 2 minutes later.

A penalty goal by Bruno Aguiar and a strike from Nasser Ibrahim however denied Al Gharafa a victory at home.

The Ghanaian defender enjoyed the full 90 minutes of the game and got booked.

His strong performance at Club level could still earn him a place in the Black Stars team after the 2017 Cup of Nations tournament.
