Ghana’s Strongest Man Thrills Fans At KNUST

Ghana’s strongest man, Faisal Alhassan on Thursday thrilled fans at the Unity Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with an amazing show of strength at the Hall’s maiden Power lifting competition. Faisal, of Ghana’s strongest fame, who was the guest of honor at the event dubbed “KNUST’s Strongest”, squatted with five hundred and fifty pounds (550 LBS) of weight to the amazement of all who patronized that programme. He advised the twenty (20) contestants to avoid the use of steroids and train on a daily basis to ensure constant fitness.

The programme formed part of the Unity Hall week celebration.

The heavily patronized programme, saw a member of the Unity Hall, Sumaila Benjamin emerge winner after beating Osabreh George, another strong contender to second place.

The winner took home a trophy, a refrigerator, a certificate and an undisclosed amount of money while the runner up took home a trophy, a microwave, a certificate of participation as well as some cash.

Godson Lamptey, popularly called mojo, Technical Director of the programme in an interview with focus news stated his desire to promote weight lifting in Ghana, and urged all to avoid associating strength with violence saying that our society needs strong men.
