Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Ibrahim Saani Dara has exclusively revealed to Starr News that his outfit parted ways with Coach Kwasi Appiah because he objected to the FA’s decision to hire the services of a technical advisor.

Coach Appiah was sacked on Friday after being the first indigenous coach to lead the Black Stars to a World Cup tournament.

The GFA decided to bring in Milovan Rajevac as the technical advisor of the senior national team after the woeful performance of the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup.

Appiah according to the FA rejected the idea despite several pleas from the FA and members of the technical team.

Speaking to Starr News, Mr. Dara said it would have been a disaster if the FA had gone ahead to appoint a technical advisor while Appiah was still in charge of the Black Stars.

“Management thought it wise to boost the technical aspect of the team after a dreadful campaign in Brazil.

“But as you may have heard, the Coach has told some media houses that he doesn’t want a technical adviser, so we decided to mutually terminate his contract."
