Fafali Organization’s rising golf star Julienne Afi Amezado has earned sponsorship from Ghanaian golfer, Daniel List, through his foundation Danny List Foundation to compete in a junior tournament in the UK.
The gesture is part of the foundation's aim to unearth, develop young talents and above all offer the necessary support to young golfers in the country.
The Danny List Foundation officially presented a cheque and surveyors to Afi on Tuesday, July 31, 2024.
Speaking at the presentation, Daniel List's mother on behalf of his son, who is currently involved in a tournament in the USA, stated that it is paramount to offer Afi the handout because it aligns with their vision.
"The Danny List Foundation was set up to encourage junior golfers and to grow more talents in Ghana. Danny List who happens to be my son is also the first Ghanaian on the US PDA tour. Daniel would have loved to be here but he is currently playing in Arizona. We are very proud of how Ghana is producing talents and I'm proud to say that Daniel has collaborated with the Fafali organization to sponsor Afi to play in the Gro junior open," she told the media.
She continued b wishing the young golf star well in the upcoming tournament, expressing faith and entreating her to win the ultimate.
"Afi I wish you all the best and I have no doubts that you will bring the cup back. I think it is really important to encourage youngsters of today to get into the sport and I'm exceptionally proud to have a young girl present to us."
Afi, in her acceptance speech, showed gratitude to the Danny List Foundation fo the support and vowed to make Daniel proud.
"I'm so happy that such a great golfer Danny List is sponsoring my flight to participate in the tournament. I feel so good to represent Ghana and get a sponsorship from Danny List, I want to make him proud.
"Thank you to the Danny List Foundation for giving us such a great opportunity and helping us the young golfers to get into the game."
Julienne Afi Amezado, is considered to be Ghana's next great golf talent. This is her second international tournament after competing in the prestigious Mack Champ invitational tournament in Houston in 2023 at age 14.
She will participate in the Groove Junior Open scheduled for August 2024.
