Ghana’s hope of making progress in Swimming was dashed after "Day Three" of the ongoing 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Ophelia Swayne, Ghana’s swimming sensation clocked a time of 29.66 seconds to place sixth in the Women’s Butterfly 50 meters category.
The results, ended her chances of making progress to the next stage of the competition, whilst Jackson brothers; Abeiku and Abbiw also made 56.47sec and 56.87 sec respectively to place third and fourth in the Men’s 100meter Freestyle.
Antwi Kwabe also placed fifth with 33.63 sec in the Men’s 50m Backstroke.
In Table Tennis, Ghana handed Kenya three straight defeat in the Women’s Group with Bernice Borquaye, Cynthia Kwabi and Cecilia Baah Danso as the proud winners, whilst Men’s Judo -100kg, saw Athania Sahli of India defeating Raymond Normeshie, with Victor Ahiavor losing to Ombiongno Stephane of Nigeria.
