Coach Maxwell Konadu says his home-based Black Stars are out to do their best at the ongoing Cosafa Cup tournament.
The Local Black Stars flew out of Accra on Thursday night to South Africa ahead of their quarterfinal clash with the winner of Group B on May 24.
Madagascar and Swaziland are neck and neck on the Group B table with six points each and are set to face off in a final group game at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Friday to determine Ghana’s quarterfinals opponent.
“Like any other team at a tournament, the target is to get to the final and try winning the ultimate and I think it is not different with our team,” Konadu who has begun building a strong side for the 2016 Chan tournament said.
Ghana are first time guests at the Southern Africa regional competition and Konadu wants the West African powerhouse to leave an indelible mark at the competition.
“Our hope is that we justify the decision of the organizers to invite us as guests at the Cosafa tournament.
“Even though this is our first time and have not had enough international friendlies, yet still we want to go and do our very best for Ghana so that every year, we get invited,” he ended.
Ghana are presenting a selection of the best performers from clubs in the domestic league.
