Ghana’s U20 made USA coach Tab Ramos eat his humble pie days with a mammoth 4-1 win days after describing the Black Satellites as an ordinary side.

Ramos said in a pre-match interview:”The Ghanaian team has not been the vintage side that they usually advertise at the youth competitions.”

He added that: “They lack the tenacity that we know them to have and that is the reason behind our confidence.”

Ramos wrote off Ghana’s campaign after the 2009 world champions suffered back-to-back defeats to France and Spain.

The former US international was leading his side into their final Group A match with one point accrued from 1-1 draw against France.

But Ghana responded ruthlessly on the pitch with goals from Frank Acheampong, Ebenzer Assifuah (double) and Kennedy Ashia to send the Americans packing from the competition.

Shane ONeill got the consolation for USA.

The victory, however, could not confirm Ghana’s progress to the round of 16 as they must wait for the final round of matches.
