The Ghana Football Association has opted not to play Ukraine in an international friendly scheduled for May in London. The Black Stars pulled out of the friendly after the Ukrainians refused to reschedule the match for a future date.
The match was originally scheduled to be played in the English capital on 24 May after both sides had reached a deal.
But in the wake of the World Cup draw the Ghana FA authorities redesigned their warm-up plans to reflect the opponents they will face at the tournament in South Africa.
Ghana offered to play the game on 27 May instead but the Ukrainian turned it down because they will face Algeria two days later.
“We have also got our plans near the date that Ghana offered to play us so we have decided not to play Ghana at all,” a Ukraine FA spokesman told Ghanasoccernet.com.
Ghana have been placed in the same group as Serbia, Australia and Germany at the 2010 World Cup.
