Ghana continued with her winless campaign at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), with a goalless draw game with Cameroon in the second Group F game at Ismailia Stadium on Saturday.
It was a must win game for the Black Stars, as they needed to progress to the next stage of the competition, but again the Stars failed to grab the three maximum points from their old foes.
With three changes to the starting line-up which saw Kwadwo Asamoah, Baba Rahman and Jonathan Mensah, the Stars were not on top of the game at the end of the first half as the Cameroonians had 57% of the game with 43% going to Ghana.
But again Ghana was forced to make a substitution in the first half after Christian Atsu sustained an injury in 12 minutes and was replaced by Samuel Owusu.
Determined to win the game, the Stars were more determined and improved upon their game.
However, a number of chances were created but none of them was converted.
Coach Appiah introduced veteran Asamoah Gyan into the game together with Kwabena Owusu in the last 20 minutes and Ghana nearly had the winner but again chances were squandered.
Ghana would have to go into another must win game against Guinea Bissau on Tuesday, to ensure their progress into the 1/16 stage of the competition.
