Ghana would not compromise on the 14-day release clause for players in the build up to the 2012 Nations Cup.
The Black Stars are due to begin preparations for the competition in Rustenburg, South Africa on January 7th next year and Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantekyie says he expects every player to be present from day one for the camp.
The timing of the Nations Cup has often led to grumblings from mostly European clubs furious at the loss of players during key periods in the season.
But Nyantekyie says the GFA will insist on what is their right. "That is the FIFA rule and we are not going to compromise. Nobody will compromise. Laws are laws. They are there to protect our interest. There is no reason we will compromise on that. We have always insisted on that and we would again", he told the Oti Adjei Report due to air on TV3 on Thursday at 10pm.
Nyantekyie also expects maximum gains from the camping in South Africa which will take place at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex in Rustenburg.
"We chose South Africa because it has facilities and a contusive atmosphere which is very important when you are preparing for a competition like this."
