The spokesperson for the Ghana FA Normalization Committee, Dan Kweku Yaboah, has called the bluff of critics of the new management committee for the Black Stars.
The NC on Friday named a five-member management team to lead the Black Stars at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt to be led by the Board Chairman of GNPC Dr. K.K. Sarpong.
The composition of the committee which also has the Deputy Sports Minister as the Vice Chairman has invited several public reactions with many describing it as a political committee.
But Dan Kwaku Yeboah, a former critic of the Ghana FA and now the spokesperson of the NC claims the arguments are baseless since the members of the committee are competent.
“Why aren’t we judging them by their expertise but by party affiliation?
“The finance minister is related to the president; does it in any way erase his expertise?
“I don’t know where this is coming from and I don’t think this is important to stress on,” he told Sikka FM.
Shockingly, Dan Kwaku Yeboah had previously questioned the significance of management committees for national teams but strangely supports the same under a different administration.
Other members of the committee are Ibrahim Sunday, Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye and Madam Abena Osei Asare.
They are expected to supervise the activities of the Black Stars and collaborate with the technical team to facilitate all arrangements to ensure the team gets the best of preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ghana has already qualified for the 2019 AFCON following a ban on Sierra Leone despite having a game in hand with Kenya.
