Ghana to miss out on Africa Tae-Kwando Olympic Qualifier in Morocco

The Ghana Taekwondo Association (GTA) will need at least $27,000 to participate in the 2016 Africa Olympic Games qualifiers in Morocco early next month and may miss the competition if the Association fails to raise the required funds.

Ghana is scheduled to send four athletes to battle for slots from the continent for the biggest sports festival in Brasil later in the year, but it looks very impossible due to the financial challenges.

As at the close of work on Thursday, the GTA was yet to secure money for air tickets, accommodation and cost of living in Morroco for the two-day competition.

Ghana will be represented by David Adjetey – Silver medalist in 2015 All Africa Games in Congo, and Danille Pelham – Bronze medallist in AAG Congo, Terrance Asare and Eunice Adukpo based in Ghana.
