Accra, Sept 9, GNA - Coach Ratomir Djukovic is to prompt the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to seek clarification from the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) on the eligibility of midfielder, Laryea Kingston ahead of the Black Stars qualifier against Cape Verde next month.

The creative midfielder picked a yellow card in the Stars game against Uganda last Sunday and though the coach insisted that it was the player's first in the qualifier, he told the GNA Sports that he intends seeking clarification from the world soccer governing body to avoid any problems.

Sections of the Ghanaian media published after the game that the former Hearts of Oak star would miss the Cape Verde game due to accumulation of cards.

Coach Djukovic said Sunday's card "was Laryea's first according to my records. But to avoid any needless problem, I advise the FA to write to FIFA to crosscheck his status".

If cleared, the dribbler who paved way for Hamza Mohammed in the Kumasi game would form part of the team tasked with the sole responsibility of picking the only slot in the group for the World Cup appearance with at least a point in the Cape Verde game.

The Stars trek as guest of Cape Verde in the final game of the qualifier with 18 points, needing only a draw to seal qualification. The influential midfielder has remained an integral part of the Stars squad since making his debut under the Serbian in the game in Kinshasa, where it took a late effort for the Democratic Republic of Congo to cancel Asamoah Gyan's goal to earn a point.
