The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says the government of Ghana will not bow to FIFA’s threat to ban the country from all football-related activities.

The world football governing body has cautioned the country to withdraw its court case against the Ghana Football Association.

The Attorney General of Ghana, Gloria Akufo has been in court to seek for the dissolution of the country’s football governing body following the public premiering of the Anas Aremeyaw Anas video that has collapsed the foundations of Ghana football.

Top officials of the Ghana FA were filmed taking bribes and over 80 match officials were also filmed taking bribe to change the outcome of the game.

An Accra High Court on July 12, 2018, appointed the Registrar of companies as the official liquidator of the Ghana Football Association.

However, on Monday, August 13, 2018, Fatma Samoura, who is the General Secretary of FIFA wrote to the government of Ghana to withdraw its petition against the GFA with an ultimatum of August 27 or face its wrath.

But the Member of Parliament for the people of Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency in addressing the media on Wednesay indicated that the government will not bow to the threat of FIFA.

Should FIFA ban Ghana, the country will not host the 2018 Africa Women’s Championship, the Black Satellites will not participate in the 2019 Africa Youth Championship in Niger, the Black Stars will not participate in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
