Referee Stephen Kofi Antwi from Ghana was given a two-day suspension for poor performances but is still allowed to officiate as a judge at the Games.
“We have a spy camera which means we can see every blow and respond to how the judge responds, said Pakistan’s Dr Anwar Chowdhry, President of the Amateur International Boxing Association. .
“In the past, boxing has been at risk as an Olympic sport because of problems with judging and we need to ensure the right decisions are made.’’
Chowdhry plans to meet all 31 judges and referees at the Games on Thursday to tell them the level he expects.
And nine judges have been warned over their performances by Pakistan’s Dr Anwar Chowdhry, President of the Amateur International Boxing Association.
Ugandan judge David Agong has been suspended indefinitely for what Chowdhry described as “making political decisions’’ during the light welterweight contest between Scot Kevin Anderson and Pakistan’s Asghar Ali Shah on Saturday, which Anderson won 29-18.
