Accra, Sept 24, GNA- A Ghanaian foundation based in United States, the Reverend Nathaniel Okuraku Foundation, has donated two trophies to the organisers of this year SESSA games scheduled for the last week of November.

The two trophies are to be given to the male and female winners of the handball competition at the games.

Mr. Pikwus Laryea who made the donation on behalf of the foundation said the late reverend is a fan of handball while his son who is currently based in the U.S. is also a fan of handball and the donation is to promote the sport in Ghana.

He said unlike the usual situation where trophies are won for keeps at the third time, these trophies are to be won for keeps by those to win them at the first instance.

Mr Laryea explained that the foundation will donate new trophies annually for the games adding that cash prizes will go with the trophies but did not disclose the amounts involved.

He called on the participants to put in their best to ensure a successful event adding that Ghana sport is on the verge of rising from its slumber. 24 Sept, 2003
