European football specialist, Reuben Obodai brings you a comprehensive update on how Ghanaian players performed in abroad this weekend.

The weekend was very fun in terms of the number of players who registered their names on the scoresheet - sixteen players hit the back of the net for their various clubs across the globe.

Caleb Ekuban got off the mark for Trabzonspor in grand style as they walloped giants Galatasaray. The young hitman had to wait for 14 matches at Leeds United before opening his scoring account but it took him just six minutes to sign off for the Turkish side

Joseph Aidoo, who has been churning out excellent performances in the opening weeks of the Belgian Jupilar Pro League, registered his name on the scoresheet with a cracking strike to help Genk earn a draw.

Still in Belgium, Black Stars newbie signed off for his Ghana duty with a last-gasp goal to snatch a draw for Antwerp.

Kevin-Prince Boateng continued his superb return to the Serie A by notching up a goal for Sassuolo in their big win over Genoa.

Kasim Nuhu was the only blemish to a somewhat fantastic weekend for Ghanaian players abroad as the former Medeama SC guardsman suffered a horror injury in Hoffenheim win against SC Freiburg.

Lastly, Alhassan Wakaso kept up from where he left off last week against FC Porto by hitting an important winner for Vitoria Guimaraes in the victory over Tondela.

ENGLAND

Daniel Amartey cameoed for Leicester City in their 2-1 defeat against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

Dennis Odoi played full period of action for Fulham FC as they drew 2-2 with Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Ghanaian duo Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew were taken off in the 76th minute for Crystal Palace in their 2-0 defeat to Southampton at the Selhurst Park.

Christian Atsu cameos for Newcastle United in their 2-1 loss against Manchester City

Collin Quaner missed Huddersfield 1-1 draw at Everton through injury.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah was left out of Aston Villa matchday squad in their 4-1 defeat at Sheffield United after his brother fired a scathing attack on manager Steve Bruce for sanctioning the Ghanaian sale following the arrival of Anwer El Ghazi and Yannick Bolasie.

Baba Rahman lasted 73 minutes for Schalke 04 in their 2-0 home defeat to Hertha Berlin. Derrick Luckassen watched his new Hertha Berlin teammates from the stands.

Issah Abass watched from the stands as his new teammates FSV Mainz 05 laboured to draw 1-1 at FC Nuremburg.

Agyemang Diawusie warmed the bench for Ingolstadt in their 3-2 win over Aue.

Christian Adjei-Antwi played full throttle for SC Paderborn 07 in their 2-2 draw with VfL Bochum. Bernard Tekpetey for Paderborn. Jan Gyemerah was introduced in the 20th minute for Bochum.

Kelvin Weidlich played full throttle for Energie Cottbus in their 2-0 defeat at 1860 Munich.
