Medeama have pulled the plugs on the signing of striker Derrick Sasraku amid doubts over his free agent status, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The Mauve and Yellows were reported to have signed the former Aduana Stars striker on a two-and-half year deal after terminating his contract with Club Africain.

But GHANAsoccernet.com can report that the two-time FA Cup holders have suspended the deal amid doubts over his free agent status.

The Tarkwa-based side want clarity on the paperwork before making the deal official to avoid legal drama with the Tunisian side.

The Premier League side has been diligent in its handling of the case to avoid a potential FIFA breaches which has landed giants Asante Kotoko in trouble.

Club Africain has been reluctant to come clean on the the status of the player despite official communique from Medeama seeking the actual situation regarding the striker.

The club's chief Executive James Essilfie, credited with an outstanding administrative tact and professionalism, wants to do due diligence before taking a final decision.
