Some soccer fans in Ghana on Sunday expressed happiness with the impressive performance put up by the senior national team, their first group game in a match that was telecast live from Mbabane, the Swazi capital in Accra.
The Black Stars walloped their Swazi counterparts 3-0 at their own home soil as Andre Dede Ayew hit the back of the net in the early minutes of the game when he connected a cross from Ghanaian Udinese international Kwadwo Asamoah.
Prince Tagoe added another goal in the second half while defender Hans Adu Sarpei increased the tally to 3-0 in the latter part of the game.
By this victory, Kwame Kwakwa, a banker told APA that the Stars had begun the 2012 qualification campaign on a high note and that they have similarly broken the “one goal” project that bedevilled the team in 2009 to the latter part of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The victory, according to Hannah Mensah, a sports journalist, indicates that Coach Milovan Rajevac means business and wants to prove to soccer fans that he is committed to the four-year contract he just signed with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
