Ghanaian midfielder David Abagna, goalkeeper Razak Abalora, and forward Seidu Basit have made history by winning the Moldovan Super Liga title with CS Petrocub.
The trio helped their club secure the title after drawing 1-1 with Milsami on Saturday, with just one game remaining in the season.
CS Petrocub's goal was scored by Dan Pușcaș in the 59th minute, after Radu Gînsari had given Milsami the lead in the 52nd minute. Abalora and Abagna both started the game and played the full 90 minutes, while Basit was on the bench.
Abagna, who is on loan from Al Hilal, has been a key player for CS Petrocub this season, contributing four goals in nine appearances. The victory also marks a significant milestone for Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah, who previously served as CEO of Asante Kotoko and is now the President of CS Petrocub. This is his first title win in his new role.
The Ghanaian contingent at CS Petrocub will have another chance to add to their trophy cabinet, as they will face Zimbru in the Moldovan Cup final on May 25th.
The team's final league game of the season will be a home clash against Zimbru on May 18th.
