Ghanaian trio Emmanuel Boateng , Gyasi Zardes and Lloyd Sam have been named in the Major League Soccer team of the week.
The trio were included in the 20-man list after excelling with their respective Clubs over the weekend.
Boateng, 22 and Gyasi Zardes 24, were both on target in LA Galaxy’s 5-2 thumping over Real Salt Lake at the weekend.
Lloyd Sam on the other hand played a crucial role in helping New York Red Bulls secure an important 3 points at the Red Bull Arena last Sunday by setting up a goal in their dramatic 3-2 victory over Orlando City.
Their performance over the weekend has eventually earned them places in the MLS team of the week which was released on Wednesday.
Boateng who joined LA Galaxy this season from Swedish outfit Helsingborg was ranked third with 1358 score with his teammate Gyasi Zardes who remains a major target for USA National team coach Jurgen Klinsman earning 1091 score to secure the fifth spot on the ranking.
Compatriot Lloyd Sam who also joined New York Red Bulls history list last season after scoring his 20th League goal for the Club found himself in the top 20 performers of the week with an accumulated score of 791 to secure the last spot on the ranking.
