Ghana and current Panathinaikos midfielder, Michael Essien, has been named among illustrious players to have scored a significant number of goals in the UEFA Champions League.
The 34-year-old veteran midfielder, who currently plays for Panathinaikos in Greece scored a total of 11 goals during his playing days at Chelsea (England), Real Madrid (Spain) and AC Milan (Italy).
Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba is the highest scoring African with a total of 44 goals followed swiftly by Cameroon international Samuel Eto who picked up 33 goals.
