Ghanaian youngster Edmund Baidoo scored a crucial goal in Sogndal's emphatic 4-0 victory over Start in the Norwegian 1. Divisjon on Saturday afternoon.
The match at the Fosshaugane Campus saw Sogndal dominate despite Start having more possession.
Before the clash, the two teams' head-to-head records were four wins for Sogndal, nine wins for Start, and six draws.
However, Sogndal's superiority was evident from the Start, with captain Per-Egil Flo opening the scoring in the 18th minute. Baidoo, who started the game and played for 78 minutes, doubled the lead before the break.
Erik Flataker added two more goals in the second half, scoring in the 63rd and 65th minutes to secure a comprehensive victory for Sogndal. Fellow Ghanaian Isaac Twum came on in the 80th minute to replace Oskar Borgthorsson, adding to Sogndal's strength.
Baidoo, just 18 years old, has been a standout performer this season, making 16 appearances, scoring eight goals, and providing four assists in the 2024 Norwegian 1. Divisjon.
Sogndal will look to continue its winning streak when it travels to face Egersund in its next league game on August 3rd.
