Manchester City has signed highly coveted English-born Ghanaian wonderkid, Ryan McAidoo, in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 2008-born forward has chosen to leave Chelsea and join the reigning Premier League champions, marking a significant coup for Manchester City's academy.
The deal, which seemed to be a tug-of-war among England's top clubs, was ultimately hijacked by Manchester City. Despite strong interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, McAidoo has decided to prioritize a move to the Etihad Stadium.
McAidoo, known for his versatility and ability to play in various attacking positions, was highly valued by Chelsea. The Blues made collective efforts to retain the prodigious teenager at Stamford Bridge, but their attempts were ultimately unsuccessful.
McAidoo has already represented England at the U-17 level, playing in U-17 Euro qualifiers in March of this year.
McAidoo also played multiple times for the Chelsea U-18s in 2023/24, including a couple of U-18 Premier League starts in March.
