Ghatel teams to honour patron

Accra, Oct 7, GNA - The Ghana Telecom Ladies regional soccer teams (GHATEL LADIES) would engage in a special gala in honour of their patron, Mr Kofi Dua-Adonteng, a who has been newly appointed as the Managing Director of Ghana Post.

The gala billed for Bonwiri in the Ashanti Region on Saturday, October 9, would see nine of the Ghatel teams vying for honours and paying tribute to Mr Dua-Adonteny for exhibiting undiluted support in the women's game.

Teams expected to compete in the one-day gala, which also serves as a prelude to this year's Kente Festival, include Greater Accra, Koforidua, Wa, Tamale, Bolgatanga, Kumasi, and Central Region among others.

Mr Joseph Ayittey told the GNA Sports that players like Adjoa Bayor, Gloria Oforiwaa, Florence Okoe, Aminatu Ibrahim and Hamdia Abass, all members of the Black Queens' team that returned from South Africa last Monday after competing in the African Women's Championship will feature in the competition.

The former company solicitor of Ghana Telecom has been appointed as the Managing Director of Ghana Post and is to assume duty on Friday, October 15, is expected to grace the occasion.

Mr Dua-Adonteng in his seven-year reign as the group chairman of all the ten regional Ghatel teams is credited for his unflinching dedication, zeal and commitment to develop the women's game at the highest level.
