Giant screens for Ghana fans

African Nations Cup co-hosts Ghana have promised their fans a football feast with giant screens and low-priced tickets.

The sponsors of the Ghanaian national team, Guinness, have selected 10 venues in five cities to locate the screens and transmit live pictures of all the matches.

Tickets are on sale in advance at a minimal cost, although many fans still cannot afford the lowest price of less than $1.

However, the organisers do not envisage spectator apathy, as speculation is rife that the screens will keep fans away from matches.

The Nations Cup will also be transmitted live on state television to thousands of homes in the country.
