Father of former WBO Super Bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe, Paul Dogboe has urged Ghanaians to re-elect President Akuffo Addo for another four year term.

Paul Dogboe who masterminded Isaac Dogboe’s meteoric rise to fame, believes the incumbent president has displayed enough competence in his first term to merit another four year tenure.

“I get worried when people say crazy things about the president.”

“He is not young and cannot keep the ground running.”

“He is a great man and he has to analyze things before taking decisions.”

“I think Ghanaians should give him another chance in 2020.” Paul Dogboe said on Awake Sports on Awake tv on Friday March 20.

Paul Dogboe was “jack of all trades” during his son, Isaac Dogboe’s fleeting rise to prominence when he played the role of a trainer, second, manager, agent, psychologist just to mention a few.

As a trainer he saw his son make a record of 17-0 when the 25-year-old turned professional in 2013.

Isaac Dogboe’s record under his father saw him stop Mexican, Cesar Juarez in round 5 for the vacant WBO Super Bantamweight title.

He perfected that record with a win over Jesse Magdaleno to become the WBO’s sole champion at super bantamweight.

He successfully defended the title against aging Japanese Hednori Otake whom he sent to the canvass twice before referee stopped the fight in round one.

Paul Dogboe’s work was put to test when Isaac Dogboe was to face Mexican, Emmanuel Navarrete.

Dogboe lost his title in 2018 and again fell to the same fighter in 2019 in a rematch.

Isaac Dogboe has now pitched camp with former American Super Middleweight Champion, James Toney as his new trainer, ending a short relationship with legendary American coach, Freddie Roach.
