Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah has issued an unqualified apology after his gaffe comments in 2017.

Brimah became a public enemy when he issued out offensive words towards his critics after Ghana’s victory over DR Congo in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The 31-year-old who is currently unattached in a video post told Ghanaians to “shut up” after the goalkeeper had received massive critics for poor showing in the competition.

The former Córdoba gloves-man who had missed a penalty which caused Ghana a Cup of Nation title back in 2015 eventually became a villain in the eyes of many Ghanaians who called for his exclusion from the Black Stars team.

Eventually Brimah has since been overlooked in the National team, a situation which has since been disturbing the former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper.

”I will take this opportunity to apologize to all Ghanaians who were offended by my offensive video,” he tells Kumasi – based Abusua FM.

“I made a mistake in responding to one fan who was so critical on me and even went to the extent of insulting my mum who is so dearly to me.

“The issue has affected my career so much because I would have been in camp by now. Everyone who was offended should kindly forgive me.”

His remorseful gesture comes just days to the start of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
