The Head of Corporate Affairs of Gold Fields Ghana (Tarkwah and Darmang) headline sponsors of the Black Stars and the Prediction league on the Ghana Home Page says his outfit has graduated from shaping the Black Stars dream to living it.

In an interview with the Chronicle newspaper in Accra yesterday, Dr Tony Aubynn(in picture - right) noted that after shaping the team's dream to play spiritedly during the Germany 2006 World Cup, it is putting pieces together to realize the dream, that is lifting the forthcoming Ghana 2008 tourney.

According Aubynn his outfit is in serious talks with the Ghana Football Association(GFA) to take a critical stock of Gold Fields' sponsorship for the Stars and the way forward .

"Already preliminary discussions have been held with the FA and we have reviewed the past and made projections for extension of the three year sponsorship for the Black Stars," he noted.

Reacting to Gold Fields support for the Ghana 2008 competition, Dr Aubyyn pointed out that his outfit has provided a modern toilet facility worth $55million close to the Essipong Stadium.
He added that after speaking with most of the players, they did not hesitate to admit the fact that the task ahead is a gargantuan one but they gave the assurance that they will give their best shot to host and win as declared by the FA boss Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Gold Fields who have pumped $3million into the Black Stars for a three year period subject to renewal are also the sponsors of Tarkwah United, a Division One side based in Tarkwah.
The mining company are considering supporting other sporting disciplines in future in its bid to develop sports in the country.
