Ghana Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga has reiterated that government has no interest in unseating current GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi and has stated that his administration would give its support to anyone who occupies the seat.

Reports in the local media has indicated that strong government functionaries are making frantic efforts to get the 47 year old Solicitor out of the Football House through any means possible but Hon Ayariga has quashed such rumours.

"The determination of who should be the leader of the GFA, that’s not government’s mandate and therefore we cannot unseat anybody. The question of who should be the president of the GFA is entirely a matter for the National Congress of the association, so I don’t think it’s the matter that government is interested in", he told the press.

Ransford Abbey and Sowah Odotei have been strongly linked to the GFA Presidency position.
