Government has neglected Sports - Former Sports Minister

The former Youth and Sports minister of Ghana, Nii Lante Vanderpuije is shocked that nothing was said on Sports development when budget was read at Parliament last week.

Vanderpuije was eager to see the Government allocating money for the development of sports in the country but nothing was mentioned.

”In 2016, the state of the nation’s address mentioned that government will pursue to build four more Stadiums in Brong Ahafo, Eastern, Volta and Upper East region. I was expecting that in this budget we will see an indication but nothing was mentioned,” Vanderpuije stated.

”The 2018 budget did not also mention anything at all on the 2016\17 budget which mentioned the transformation of the Winneba sports college into a center of excellence”

The former Sports Minister was addressing Parliament on the incumbent government’s budget for 2018.
