Minister designate for youth and sports has vowed to keep Black Stars coach, Avram Grant in the country most especially spend quality time assessing players in the Ghana premier league.
The former Chelsea manager has failed to stay in Ghana since his appointment in 2014 to replace Kwesi Appiah who had a forgettable moment at the world in 2014.
Nii Lantey Vanderpuye who boasts of vast experience in the field of sports has been vocal since his appointment by the president John Mahama and his latest daring comments has revealed he will insist the Israeli coach spend time in Ghana.
Grant organised his first seminar for local coaches last November but left the country few days later after Ghana edged past Comoros in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
The former football and boxing commentator said, “We have a foreign coach now and I don’t have a problem with him (Avram Grant).”
“I think he is a wonderful coach but I am going to insist that he spends lot more of his time in Ghana to transfer knowledge and technical know-how to our coaches in order to build them up,” he added.
Grant is yet to return to the country three months since he left.
