"Greedy" Desailly To Miss Out on Stars Job

... He wants about 100,000 Euros/Month

Marcel Desailly’s quest to become the new Ghana coach is on the brink of collapse because of his excessive wage demands.

The Ex-France captain is demanding close to two times more than what Milovan Rajevac wanted to extend his stay at the Black Stars coach, Ghanasoccernet investigations have revealed.

The former AC Milan defender, who has no experience in coaching, wants to bring in two French coaches as his assistants at the cost of the state.

Government officials who are forcing Desailly’s appointment are said to be utterly disgusted by his personal financial demands.

Sports ministry and government officials dragged their feet over the 50,000 Euros monthly salary the Ghana FA reached with Rajevac, but they have been shocked by Desailly’s quest to have nearly two times that amount.

The cost of keeping the two assistant French coaches will be nearly half of Rajevac’s salary package.

The arrival of the two assistant French coaches means Desailly will sack long-standing assistant manager Akwasi Appiah who has received massive support and blessing of the Black Stars squad players.

Goalkeeper’s coach Edward Ansah’s job is also on the line as Desailly is planning to replace them, completely dismantling the backroom team built over the years that has brought Ghana success.

The government officials who were trying to impose Desailly on the Ghana FA are said to be reconsidering their plans of getting him to coach the Black Stars.

Over fifty coaches, some world class like ex-Sevilla and Tottenham boss Juande Ramos have expressed interest in coaching the Black Stars.

Milovan Rajevac took the inexperienced squad to the final of the African Cup of Nations in January.

Six months later he led the squad to the quarter final of the World Cup in South Africa.

He refused to renew his contract after delays from the Ghana government over approving his new salary and he opted for an offer from Saudi side Al Ahly
