Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer says his side’s 1-1 draw with Ghana in their Group E Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday did not tell the whole story.

The Frenchman believes the Syli Nationale did more to deserve the three points after having the chunk of territorial dominance.

Ibrahim Traore snatched the equalizer in the 80th minute for Guinea at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca after Asamoah Gyan had put Ghana ahead on 26 minutes.

The point earned has revived Guinea’s qualification bid but Dussuyer thought they were superior and deserved to win.

“We were scored in the first half, but we fought back in the second half by posing enormous problems for the Ghana team. If you look at the face of the game, we deserved to win,” Dussuyer said in a post-match interview.

“We were just very shy and respectful of the opponent. In addition, it made less use of possession. Fortunately, we were able to make adjustments in the second half to come from behind.”

The two sides will clash at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the return leg.
