Yakubu to sign for Moghreb Tetouan

Former Maritzburg United striker, Yakubu Mohammed, is set to sign for Moroccan side Moghreb Athletic de Tétouan.

According to club sources, the diminutive forward duly notified officials of FCPPL leaders AshantiGold of his impending trip to Morocco but had kept the name of the club under wraps.

However supersport.com checks have confirmed that Yakubu joined the Caf Champions League campaigners last Wednesday and has since been training with the side.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian international has been tabled by the Tetouan-based club as a direct replacement for Mouhssine Lajour who recently moved to Qatar SC.

Pending successful medicals, Yakubu will be joining the 2014 Fifa Club World Cup participants in a direct deal as he is not contracted to AshantiGold.

Club sources further reveal to supersport.com that the striker re-joined the Miners this season for free with an agreement that he will pay the club 20% of any future foreign deal that will come his way during the campaign.

Yakubu, since his return, picked up good form and scored eight goals for the Miners in the FCPPL.
