Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan has lauded his teammates for booking a slot at next year’s Afcon tournament in Gabon.
The Black Stars defeated Mauritius 2-0 to book yet another qualification to the tournament which they narrowly lost the final to Ivory Coast.
Gyan, who could not join his teammates following an injury he sustained whiles playing for his club side Shangai SIPG, noted that the team deserves praise for qualifying for the competition.
“I am happy with what my teammates have done, and I want to use this opportunity to congratulate them for qualifying,” he said
“I would have wished to be ther, but I am glad they got the job done, we are the Black Stars of the world and I know we will continue to make Ghana proud.”
Asamoah Gyan is Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 48 goals.
