Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan was in attendance when his former club Liberty Professionals defeated Edubiase United 2-0 in outstanding Ghana Premier League matchday 13 game on Monday, at the Carl Reindolf Park in Accra.
One goal in each half of the game from Ebo Mends and Bernard Arthur gave the hosts their first win in three games, after losing their previous home game 3-2 to Aduana Stars and sharing the spoils 2-2 with Dreams FC on Wednesday.
Gyan, 30, suffered an injury relapse a fortnight ago when his Shanghai side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League. He lasted only ten minutes on the pitch.
But reports indicate he's in town to seek remedies to his troublesome knee from a local expert.
The former Sunderland record signing is chasing his 50th international goal for Ghana and is hoping to recover on time ahead of the international friendly against Guinea on May 28 in France and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius on June 5 in Accra.
