Asamoah Gyan was voted the Budweiser Man of the Match for the opening day game between Ghana and Serbia.
The Ghana striker scored the match winner in the 84th minute from a spot kick as the Black Stars kicked off their campaign at the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Serbia in Pretoria.
Gyan who was a handful for the Serbian defence marshaled around the premiership duo of Vidic and Ivanovic hit the upright on twice.
"This is all I have worked for, and to be man of the match, it is fantastic," he said after the game.
"I was just lucky to score the winning goal. Every one of us wanted to win. We showed a lot of experience and we were better today. I have to say thank you to the crowd. Every African is behind us. I salute all of them; we won this match for you."
