Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has redeemed his pledge by presenting GHC50, 000 ($13,000) to the Black Stars 1965 Cup of Nations winning team.
Gyan made the pledge during a fund-raising dinner at the Sunlodge hotel at Tesano in December last year.
The China-based attacker bought an auctioned picture of the group at the said amount of money to support them.
Government has failed to honor the past heroes that made the country proud by winning the prestigious title on the African continent in 1965.
The Shanghai SIPG attacker who was the second highest contributor at the occasion has finally fulfilled his promise after presented the money to the Group.
This forms part of Gyan’s philanthropic works to his native country since returning from holidays.
The former Sunderland star had initially cut the sod for the construction of an Astro turf at his former school Accra Academy.
It could be recalled that the Ghanaian international gave out a whopping $30,000 to the Black Queens team for winning Gold at the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo Brazil.
Reports however revealed that the Ghanaian record breaker spent as much as $400,000 on philanthropic activities in the year 2015.
The former Udinese and Stade Rennes forward who is currently the highest paid player in Africa is leaving a legacy by giving back to the society.
