The family of Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan and allies are expressing profound gratitude to Ghanaians and all who supported the final funeral rites of their beloved Mrs. Cecilia Gyan Baffour-Mensah (nee Cecilia Amoako).
The mother of Gyan and his elder brother, also former national team striker, Baffour met her untimely death in a ghastly motor accident in Accra last November and she was buried in her hometown in the Ashanti Region last Saturday after a well-attended funeral in Accra.
Gyan and his family say they are grateful for all for their diverse contributions and presence to make the otherwise sad event memorable.
“The Gyan Baffour-Mensah Family acknowledges with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, kindness, support and thoughtful gestures shown to us during the time of bereavement and the funeral rites of the late Mrs. Cecilia Gyan Baffour-Mensah (nee Cecilia Amoako),” family spokesman Sammy Anim-Addo noted in a statement.
Mr. Anim-Addo continued: “Words cannot express how much we thank Ghanaians for the sympathy, and the help they exhibited during our moment of sorrow. We are truly grateful to Ghanaians.”
