New camp emerge champions in Easter soccer competition

Kotokrom (B/A) April 26, GNA - Kotokrom New Camp Football Club (F/C) beat Abinga F/C 6-5 in a penalty shoot out in the final match of Kotokrom Area special six-team Easter anniversary football competition played at the local Municipal Assembly Junior High School Park on Easter Monday.

The attackers of New Camp led by Aziz Kyesu supported by good goalkeeping by Muntala Kilo did everything to fetch the opening goal but the Abinga boys equally stood firm to avoid conceding any goal. After the 70-minute full time with no goal scored by either side, the penalty shoot out was applied.

In the elimination stages of the competition, which was watched by hundreds of holiday makers, Arsenals whipped Red Power 5-1, Abinga defeated Arsenals 1-0, New Camp kicked out Akida Boys 4-2 in a penalty shoot out and New Camp won 4-3 on penalty kicks against Arsenals. New Camp received three fowls and a bag of rice, Abinga F/C, the runners-up were presented with one bag of rice and two fowls and third-placed Red Power took home one fowl as their reward.
