Wa All Stars have started the second round of the Glo Ghana Premier League on a very good footing, winning all two games played in round 2 of the country’s top flight league.

All Stars who had a very difficult first half of the season, have turned results around in the second half of the season so far with wins over Heart of Lions at home and also getting their first win over Ashgold at the Obuasi Ley Clay Stadium over the weekend.

All Stars now occupy the 11th position with 21 points, six adrift of a top four place and the assistant captain of the side, Tijani Joshua has told Goal.com Ghana that the team’s early second round success is down to the hard work of the technical team and that of the playing body. According to him, the team will build on that to fight for a top four finish at the end of the season.

"We have been working our socks out during the league break and our technical team also added a couple of new players which has helped turn things around for us. From a fight for relegation survival, we are now genuine contenders for a top four finish which we aim to achieve by the end of the season,” Tijani said.

Tijani added that his side will maintain the momentum for the reminder of the league and will pick the three points against Amiduas Professional in their next league match next weekend when the Tema based side visit the Wa Sports Stadium on Match Day of the Ghana Premier League.
