THE SENIOR national team, the Black Stars of Ghana will train in Kenya ahead of their crunch tie with DR Congo.

The difficult contest, which is an Africa Nations Cup qualifier, is taking place in DR Congo on March 26, 2010.

Ghana is confronting the match with the seriousness that it deserves, hence the decision to ferry the team to Kenya.

A GFA source said the Kenyan trip is very important for the Black Stars, as it would help them acclimatize for the weather conditions in DR Congo.

The GFA source added that traveling to Kenya is also aimed at helping the players have a sound mental attitude and total concentration for the game.

He could not state the exact date on which the Ghana team would emplane for Kenya but said at least they would stay in the East African country for about one week.

Ghana have failed to lift aloft the Africa Nations Cup since they won their last and fourth title in 1982 in Libya.

The Black Stars placed second in the last Africa Cup Nations where a young Ghana team lost the final game to Egypt by 1-0.

The GFA is eyeing the ultimate in the next Africa Cup of Nations so it is leaving no stone unturned in this quest.
