Hearts of Oak defender Shaun October made the Phobians’ 17-man squad that traveled to Dakar on Thursday night for the CAF Confederation Cup clash with Olympique de Ngor after passing a late fitness test, DailySoccerGhana.com can exclusively confirm.

The 25-year-old, whose visa had already been secured, was initially ruled out of the continental assignment with stomach cramps but managed to make a timely recovery.

The 17 players, who made the trip to Senegal via an Arik Air flight, will join veteran goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye, who flew to Dakar from Casablanca where he was on national team assignment with Burkina Faso.

Meanwhile, former CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Tsatsu Tsikata wished Shaun October and his team-mates well ahead of their clash in Senegal prior to the departure from the Kotoka International Airport.

Hearts of Oak players were handed Puma jackets for the trip by the Ghana FA. Contrary to reports that the Phobians have taken delivery of jerseys from incoming kit sponsor Eureka, the Thai based sportswear manufacturers are yet to reveal the date for the arrival of the kits, meaning Hearts of Oak will use their Jako branded jerseys for the game against Olympique de Ngor.
