Ghanaian midfielder Hans Nunoo Sarpei played a pivotal role in HJK's impressive 4-0 victory over IF Gnistan in the Finnish Veikkausliiga on Wednesday afternoon.
Nunoo Sarpei, who started the game and played the full 90 minutes at Mustapekka Areena, was instrumental in HJK's second goal, providing a precise assist to Topi Keskinen in the 36th minute.
Despite IF Gnistan having more possession, HJK managed to create more shooting opportunities, demonstrating their clinical finishing. Kevin Kouassivi-Benissan opened the scoring in the third minute, followed by Topi Keskinen's goal, assisted by Nunoo Sarpei, in the 36th minute. Santeri Hostikka and Stanislav Baranov added two more goals in the second half to seal the comprehensive win.
The match also saw several substitutions from both sides.
Hans Nunoo Sarpei has been a consistent presence for HJK this season, making ten appearances in the 2024 Veikkausliiga. His assist against IF Gnistan marks his first of the season.
