Premier League Board Boss Welbeck Abrah Appiah has applauded Accra-based Happy FM for institutionalizing the Sports Fans Awards for the past three years.
The Accra-based radio station owned by Global Media Alliance last Saturday held an award ceremony to honour sports personalities who have contributed to the progress of sports in the country.
The PLB Boss, who prior to the event, has been in good relationship with the media outfit commended them for their initiative and called on others to emulate.
Recounting an experience he had with the media outfit four years ago, Abra-Appiah applauded the owners of Happy FM for a kind gesture shown by presenting him with a lap top for his excellent job in Ghana football.
“I must commend Happy FM and their employers for this great initiative. It is a venture that others must emulate.”
“I recall about four years ago, they gave me a lap top for my contribution to the development of football. It became a major talking point in the country and I think many have learnt from that.”
“Their contribution to sports in general and football in particular must be highly recognized and I call on them to continue like that,” Abra-Appiah said.
