Former Hearts of Oak chairman Harry Zakkour wants Kwesi Appiah to be reinstated as coach of the Black Stars.
The 54-year-old was dismissed a week ago by the Ghana FA just within 24 hours of leading the team to a vital win over Togo in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
Reasons were not given for Appiah’s dismissal which the GFA claim was mutual.
Many however believe the poor showing of the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup and the recent slump in team spirit and perceived complaints from players culminated into Appiah’s sacking.
The ex-Ghana captain is now in the process of negotiating his severance package due him following the termination of his two-year contract which took effect only in August.
But Harry Zakkour says it was a wrong move by the Ghana FA and thus must be reversed.
“I think the best thing is to bring him [Kwesi Appiah] back,” he said.
“He went to Togo to win a game after we drew against Uganda and then you sack him?
“I think that is the best thing for now, to reinstate the coach.”
