President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed that Stephen Appiah is one of the few African players whose exceptional act and dedication to national course amazes Issa Hayatou (CAF President).
"Perhaps I may have not told Appiah this, but his exceptional character and more especially his dedication is zero to none. President Issa Hayatou always ask where is that Ghanaian player who plays and never get tired anytime he wanted to ask about Stephen Appiah," Nyantakyi said at the launch of the Stephen Appiah Testimonial Match.
However, the GFA President encouraged Stephen Appiah to take up many of the other challenges in football after calling of his illustrious career on June 27 and also lauded him as the most successful captain that the Black Stars has ever had.
Stephen Appiah will officially sign off his footballing career on Saturday, June 27 after his testimonial match being put together by Primeval Media, an Accra based media and marketing consulting firm.
