Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu has praised the talents of Spain and Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal.
The AS Monaco centre-back faced the European Championship winner for the first time on Monday evening, as the French team defeated Barcelona 3-0 to win the Joan Gamper Trophy.
Yamal, who came on as a second-half substitute, couldn't prevent his team from losing, as Salisu matched him stride for stride at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
"He had a great season and performed very well at the Euros. I think he is a special player," the former Real Valladolid defender told Mundo Deportivo.
Salisu believes the 17-year-old forward has a bright future ahead of him due to his impressive skills.
"Yes, I think everyone was surprised because he is a young player. He is 16-17 years old, and at that age, playing this kind of football is surprising for everyone. I think he has a great future and is a great player," he added.
